M. Roe Eva

Eva Mae Roe, age 84, of Binghamton, formerly of Fayette, died at Lourdes Hospital on Thursday, August 27, 2015.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street, Ovid. Funeral Services will immediately follow at the funeral home. Prayers of committal will be held in Mount Green Cemetery following the service. Eva was born in Fayette on August 5, 1931, one of 13 children born to Ernest and Freda Deal. She worked as a staff attendant at Willard State Hospital. An active member of the VFW Post 6200 and American Legion Post 463 Auxiliary, Eva was a life member and served as the chaplain of the Legion for 13 years. She was also a member at the West Fayette Church.

Eva is survived by her children, Barbara Jean Roe Hawkins Utter of Penn Yan, Charles Edward Roe of Rochester, and John Ernest Roe of Vestal; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Michael Hawkins; and a great granddaughter, Cassidy Lynn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lemual Roe; and her foster parents, Ernest and Frances Raeger.
