Frances M. Trout, longtime resident of Fayette, passed away at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Frances❜ memory to your local Genealogy Society.

Frances was born in Waterloo on August 12, 1930, the only daughter of the late Emil and Charlotte (Roles) Wessig. After graduating from Waterloo High School, she was married to Dale F. Trout on November 12, 1955. She worked at Sears-Roebuck catalog store in Geneva, until they started their family and then returned once the children were in school, working a total of 17 years at the company. She and Dale wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida for many years.

She was interested in genealogy and traveled in the US and to Austria. As part of that interest she made contact with many in Sweden as well as in the US. She was very active in the 7 Lakes Girl Scout Council for several years, as a leader and committee chairman. She loved to take pictures and was well known to capture all those that attended family gatherings. She was also active in the Fayette Federated Church until her illness.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dale Trout Sr. of Waterloo; her sons, Dale F. Trout Jr. of Waterloo, David (Nancy) Trout of Candor; her daughters, Donna (Matt) Dorney of Louisville, KY, Debra (William) Gates of Penn Yan, Deana (Michael) Lichak of Fayette; her grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph, Patrick, Elizabeth and Peter Dorney, Katherine and David Gates, Christine Lichak, Heather LaComb, Jodie Michaels and Tyler Bailey; her great grandchildren, Josephine, Ada and Isabella; and a brother, James (Betty) Wessig of Waterloo and a large extended family. Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Harold Wessig.
