M. Griswold Marion

Marion M. Griswold, age 83, formerly of Verona Village in Ovid, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, following a series of health issues.

Marion was born on February 11, 1933 in Bridgeport, Connecticut the oldest daughter of the late Floyd and Luella Mills. She had worked for Seneca Army Depot, and upon it❜s closure, she transferred to the Naval Medical Center, and lived in Norfolk, VA. Upon retirement, she enjoyed the life of a snowbird, wintering in Mims, FL. In recent years, she has lived back in New York to be nearer her family.

Marion is survived by her children; Glenn J. (Mary) Griswold of Monmouth, ME, Deborah (David) Chapman of New Milford, CT, Daniel (Kathy) Griswold of Romulus, Clay Griswold of Ithaca, Roger (Linda) Griswold of Alpine, NY and Kelly (John) Griswold of Ovid, her grandchildren; Garth, Graceanne, Michael, Jessica, Marissa, Tricia, Brittney and Quinn and 4 great grandchildren, her sibilings; William Mills of Ithaca, Arlee (Christina) Mills of Ovid, Thomas Mills of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a sister in law, Berta Schott of Ithaca and many other nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Merrylou Murtha of Mims, FL and Gloria Stillman of Ithaca. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 1970.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Marion❜s life will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid.
