Francis Michael Moran, known fondly by some as ‶Bugsy″, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Romulus on February 26, 2017.

Mike was born in Aberdeen, Maryland on Feb. 2, 1954 to Francis Martin and Emma Virginia Moran. He spent his childhood years in Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio and Germany, as his father❜s military career unfolded, and completed high school at Romulus Central School, after the family settled there upon his father❜s retirement from the US Army in 1966.

An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he enjoyed a simple life in the beautiful setting of the home shared with his life partner, Virginia Marie Miller. They enjoyed the sweeping view of Cayuga Lake and birdwatching and hiking in their woods. He worked in construction and painting for Greco Painting in Geneva, NY.

Mike is survived by the love of his life Virginia Miller, siblings Maureen Hanzel, of Geneva, NY; Patricia Moran, Romulus, NY ; Marguerite (James) Abbott, Geneva, NY; Barbara (Joseph) Decicca, Geneva, NY and James (Cindy) Moran of Romulus, NY ; 15 nieces and nephews and 15 grand-nieces and nephews. He is sorely missed by his beloved pets Katie, Josie and Pia, and his feline special friend, Samson.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frank and Emma, his sister Judi Hyatt and his brother-in-law Chuck Hanzel.

Mike lived life on his own terms, an independent spirit. He will be missed by those who truly knew him, and valued him for who he was. Please raise a glass in his memory if you are one of them.
