Thomas P. ‶Tom″ Twist of Romulus passed away at home on December 24, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street, Ovid. Prayers of committal will follow in Ovid Union Cemetery. Tom was born January 3, 1947 in Seneca Falls, NY to Clarence and Augustine Twist, the eighth of nine children. He graduated from Ovid Central School then went to work for Sylvania, then Willard Psychiatric Center and Sampson State School until it closed. He worked for Agway then Ithaca College until retirement.
He enjoyed hunting pheasants, raising hunting dogs, karate, target shooting with his family, building and fixing anything, and reloading ammo.
Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia and three daughters, Hope (Francis) Parker of Jordan, Charity (Roger) Malcott of Sterling, and Autumn Twist (Mike Harris) of Romulus; two grandsons, CPL Jared Thomas Twist, USMC and Quentin Rouse; five step grandchildren, Justin Parker, Heather (Randy) Allen, Trevor Harris, Tristan Perot, and Kiahna Harris; two great grandchildren, Giakobe Parker and Eden Allen; a sister, Edith (Ray) Paone of Newark; a brother, James (Dorothy) Twist of Farmington; several nieces and nephews including William (Barbara) Twist and Dale Baker; several great nieces nephews and great great nieces and nephews; and many close friends including Dennis and Gwen Hayes and family, Bernie Weeks, Joseph and Maryanne Brodnicki, and Kathy, Mike, and Kayla Corginel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Augustine Twist; brothers, William and Clarence ‶Joey″ Twist; and sisters, Rose, Marlene, Kathryn, and Joan.
