Potts Ruthanna

Ruthanna Potts, age 87, passed away at her Main Street home on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Funeral Services will be held privately at her request, with interment at West Lodi Cemetery. Kindly consider a donation to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Street, Waterloo, NY 13165 in her memory.

Ruthanna was born in Montour Falls on May 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Henry W. and Ruth A. (Thomas) Alger. She attended Odessa Central School, and had worked at a card factory in Elmira and the Ovid Diner. She was married to Harold Potts of Lodi in April of 1949. After having her children she started a long career at Willard Psychiatric Center. She retired as a ward clerk in 1983 after 23 years of service. Ruthanna enjoyed working in her flower gardens and had a great love of animals, having many pets throughout the years, always willing to take in strays needing a home.

Ruthanna is survived by her children; Judy Notebaert of Willard, Debbie (Gary) Covert of Ovid, Terry Potts of Lodi, and Randy (Marie) Potts of Lake Worth, Florida; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She also had two brothers, Gordon and Francis Alger. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993.
