Ralph A. Didonna

Ralph A. DiDonna, age 92, longtime resident of County Road 137, peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 following a brief hospitalization.

He was born in Patterson, New Jersey on October 8, 1940, a son of the late Ralph and Angelina (nee Applauccio) DiDonna.  He joined the USArmy at the age of 17 and proudly served his country from 1948 to 1954.  He worked as a union carpenter in New Jersey for many years before moving to Valois in the 1970’s. He had worked in local vineyards while also enjoying his quiet time in the country, hunting and fishing.  He befriended his neighbors, the Voorheis family and they fast became his close friends.  Ralph was a very spiritual man, devout Catholic and committed himself to daily prayers.  He also became friends with the home delivered meals staff and would host an occasional pizza party at his house.

A graveside service was held at NYS Veterans Cemetery in Romulus on Friday, August 4, 2023.
