Richard C. “Skip” Hendrix, age 74, passed away on May 2, 2022 at Cayuga Medical Center.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 6, 2022 at 11:00am at West Lodi Cemetery, Lodi NY.
Following services, family and friends are asked to join at the Lodi Fire Department for food and beverages in celebration of Skip’s life.
Richard “Skip” was born in Ithaca, NY on August 21, 1947, a son of the late Gordon and June (Ike) Hendrix. He was an avid collector of old toys and antique glass, as well as having a large collection of ducks from his longtime membership in Ducks Unlimited. Skip was a great outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and working in his garage on a large array of woodworking and home improvement projects. Skip could be found most weekends either out antiquing with his wife, Joline, or with his dog Misty working around the house. Skip was a remarkable man and left a large impact on anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Skip worked a number of places in his life but, most notably Ithaca Gun, Eggs Specialties, and NYS DOT in Waterloo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joline Hendrix; granddaughters, Kiersten (Dakotah) Traver, and Jenna McDonald; great-grandson, Grayson Traver; siblings, Gail Hendrix, Lois Hendrix, Dale “Buzz” (Lynn) Hendrix, Joan (Scott Smith) Hendrix and Dean (Leslie) Hendrix; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Skip was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter Stacy Hendrix.
