Albert ‶Bud″ S. Rogers, age 88, of Canoga and Wyers Point, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Hildebrant Hospice Care Center.

The family will be present to receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 14, at the funeral home. Prayers of Committal will follow in Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those to make a contribution in Bud❜s memory to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Attn: Donations, Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623 or the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library Expansion Fund, PO Box 410, Ovid, NY 14521.

Bud was born in Clayton, New York on December 29, 1928 son of the late Nobel Earl and Dorothea (Keill) Rogers, originally from Wolfe Island, Canada. When he was a teenager, Bud and his family moved to Seneca County. Bud met his wife Betty while attending Romulus High School. They were married May 26, 1948. At 16, Bud started working at Gould's Pumps. He retired after 40 years as a shop supervisor. From 1968-1972 Bud and Betty owned and operated the Keady Hotel in Hayts Corners. Bud had many interests. He played semi pro baseball and football. Bud especially enjoyed the outdoors. He was a lifetime member of both Canoga and South Seneca Sportsmans clubs. Bud often took trips to hunt, fish, snowmobile or ski. He enjoyed and took great pride in taking care of his properties wherever he lived. Bud and Betty often enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family in Old Forge, Thousand Islands, and Canada. He was a fan of country music, either listening to it at home or attending concerts. He was a member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge 992.

Bud is survived by his wife of 69 years Betty Rogers; daughter, Carolyn Chamberlain; granddaughter, Megan (Charlie) Chamberlain Mullins; two great grandsons, Harry and Augustus Mullins; niece, Lorraine (Jim) Webb and family; nephew, Larry (Diane) Smith and family; and niece, Sally Reff and family. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma (Herbie) Smith and Shirley (Claude) Reff.
