Shari M. Westervelt, age 52, lifelong resident of Ovid died on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

The family will be having a Celebration of LIfe in remembrance of Shari on June 8th.

A service will be held at Seneca Community Church in Romulus at 10:30am, and then they are asking you to join them at the American Legion in Ovid at 12:00pm to help celebrate all the fun times she had and her beautiful life! They will be doing a dish to pass!  If you would like to bring something, please message one of the family members directly.

The family will be present to receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00pm on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street, Ovid. A Celebration of Shari’s Life will be announced this summer.

Shari was born on March 31, 1972 to Larry and Judy Westervelt of Ovid. She was an amazing and active community member her whole life. She loved serving her town and did for over 25 years at Ovid Primary Care. Shari loved her job and was such an important person there. All of her friends and family always loved being around her, as she was the life of the party. Shari loved her sons and her grandsons, Damien and Thomas more than anything in this world.

Shari is survived by her sons, Dusty (Mackenzie) Woodard and Kyle (Mykalinn) Woodard; parents, Larry and Judy Westervelt; brothers, Larry and Kevin (Sherry) Westervelt; grandsons Damien and Thomas; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and best friend for life Missy Brotherton. Shari was preceded in death by her sister in law Lisa Westervelt.

Shari also could not have fought so hard if she didn’t have the support of her amazing family and friends, especially amazing friend Deb Lincoln who took immaculate care of her until her last breath. Shari was recently baptized on her birthday so she could go home with her savior Jesus Christ. She spent her final months with her forever love Jeff Frey! We will love her forever and always!
