Sharon Ann (Peterson) Brown

Sharon Ann (nee Peterson) Brown , 78, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at WakeMed Hospital, Cary, NC.

Sharon was born August 25, 1943 in Ithaca, NY to Morris Brown and Zola Brock Edwards.  She attended Interlaken Central School.  Sharon lived in various locations through the years including Arizona, California and Maryland where she held various positions including beginning her career at Willard Psychiatric Hospital.  When she was 43 years old, she went back to school, received her Associates Degree in Accounting.  She worked at Cornell University until she retired in 2009.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Peterson) Suite and son-in-law Tim Suite, Cary, NC.  Her two grandsons Tyler (Danielle) Suite of Knightdale, NC and Cody (Bailee) Suite of Garner, NC.  Three beautiful great-grandchildren McKenna, Ryleigh and Tucker Suite.  Her brother Wayne Brown of Millerton, PA, nephew Zack (Ginger) Brown of Pine City, NY, and two great-nephews Michael and Matthew Brown.  Sister Sharon (Jan) Seinker of Satellite Beach, FL, niece Michelle (Fernando) Garcia of Rochester, NY and nephew Steve (Kris) Case of Rochester, NY.  Sister Sandy Horine of Houston, TX and niece Brittany Hernandez of Houston, TX.   Preceded in death her father Morris Brown, her mother Zola (Stub) Edwards and her step-father John Edwards.

Those who loved Sharon, will miss her selflessness, kindness and her silent strength.  No one was a stranger to Sharon who often made friends in a check out line.  Sharon is at peace now with her mother.

A special thank you to the staff at WakeMed Hospital, Cary, NC, ICU unit for their special compassion during her final hours.
