Interlaken, N.Y./Guntersville, Ala. - Shirley A. Beardslee, age 92, longtime resident of Hall's Corners Road, died in Guntersville, Ala. where she had been living for the past several years.
Shirely was born in Locke, N.Y. on October 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Howard and Carrie Hagin (nee Swartout) McBride. While working side by side with her husband, Charles "Red", they operated their crop farm in Interlaken and worked as a program analyst at Seneca Army Depot. She wintered in Spring Hill, Florida for many years, and eventually moved there full time, only to move to Alabama later to be nearer to her family.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Cheryl A. (Alan) Hoag of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Penny L. (Bob) Moses of Langston, Ala., and Karen S. (Ken) Boshart of Brantingham, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Red"; her son, Danny; and grandson Erick Hoag.
The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, a funeral service will then follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Prayers of committal will be held in Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Shirley's name to your local Alzheimer's Association chapter.
