Steven Danielson

d. August 19, 2019

Steven O. Danielson passed from this life on Monday, August 18, 2019. He was a resident of the Bixby Home, currently in Interlaken, NY, for the past thirty years.

Steven was born in Queens, New York, to Olav and Edna Danielson who pre-deceased him. He attended public schools in North Tonawanda, Grand Island, and Northport, New York. He was valedictorian of his graduating class and was accepted for admission at Brown and Princeton Universities. The beginning of a mental illness that shaped much of his life prevented him from attending college. He enlisted in the army during the Vietnam War. He served in the Medical Corp before receiving a discharge and becoming a ward of the Veteran❜s Administration.

Steven❜s interests included photography, motorized model airplane building, ham radios, breeding tropical fish, and adventure travel. He solo-canoed the length of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway as a young man and explored the American west and Mexico in his VW bug.

Steven❜s family is grateful to Deborah and Richard Bixby for the care he received for many years at the Bixby Home.

Steven had four siblings. Robert pre-deceased him, as did Judith (Lee) Panetta. A sister, Karen (Jerry) Triska of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma survives, as does a brother, Richard (Leroy Lewis) of Honeoye, New York.

A memorial service will take place at the Bixby Home in Interlaken at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 10th, 2019. Interment will be at North Ridge Cemetery in Lockport, New York.
