Susan E. (Whitley) Mcquilkin

Susan E. McQuilkin, age 61, of South Town Building Road, died at her home on December 6, 2022 after a brief illness.

Born in Kenmore, NY on June 4, 1961 the daughter of Gary and MaryLou Whitely. She had lived in the Ovid area for over 20 years, having most recently worked at Ovid Big M and the Ovid Liquor Store.

Sue spent many years working in retail as a supervisor and manager.  For the past two years, she was a vital member of the Ovid Big M Team.  Sue took over operations at the Redemption Center and began to network with local and bordering county non-profits in order to process their donations, including the Ovid Lyons Club, Thrive to Survive and the Ontario County Humane Society.  She recently was awarded a “Letter of Appreciation” from the Ovid-Willard Lions Club for her dedication and commitment to their cause.

Sue is survived by her friends and colleagues at the Ovid Big M and the Ovid Liquor Store as well as her two beloved dogs, Mya and Cooper.  Kindly remember Sue by donating to a local organization, as she was a quiet volunteer for many local charities, always striving to make a positive contribution. Covert Funeral Home of Ovid has assisted with arrangements.
