Swanson Charlotte

Charlotte Swanson, age 90, of Interlaken passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on April 29, 2018.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street, Ovid. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00am on Friday, May 4th, at the funeral home. Burial will be private for family. In lieu of flowers the family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Charlotte❜s name to kindly consider donating to a charity of one❜s choice.

Charlotte was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on August 16, 1927, a daughter of the late Harry and Rosine (Guerin) Hoar. In 1998, she earned her AAS degree from Fingerlakes Community College. Charlotte was an active member of many clubs and organizations including the Trumansburg Garden Club, former Master at the Interlaken Grange, Cooperative Extension Homemaker❜s Group, 4-H leader, Interlaken Reformed Church, and the Unitarian Church of Ithaca.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 70 years, John Swanson Jr.; three children, John (Josephine) Swanson III, Christine Swanson, and David (Susan) Swanson; six grandchildren, Janine, Matthew, Lydia, Mary, Kathleen, and Benjamin; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a brother, Willis Hoar; and several dear friends. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her siblings, Harold, Clarence, Warren, and Marie.
