Jimmy was born in Ovid on October 3, 1926, a son of the late Timothy and Catherine (McKenna) Clair. He was a graduate of Ovid High School and proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps in 1945 to 1946. He had a long career at Willard Psychiatric Center, where he worked as a recreational therapy aide. In his retirement, he and his wife, Korky wintered in New Smyrna Beach, FL . For Jimmy, there were no strangers, only friends he hadn❜t met yet. He enjoyed taking his family on rides in the country, checking on fields, crops and wildlife. He would often remind his loved ones to ‶thank The Guy upstairs″ for a wonderful life. He was extremely proud of his family. Stay loose, Dad.
He is survived by his children, Scott (Debi) Clair of Fairport, NY, Brian (Sharon) Clair of Indiantown, SC, Kristin (Ed) Matthews of Port St. Lucie, FL and Karla (Charlie) Lewis of Vestal, NY; his grandchildren, Ryan (Aly) Clair, Shaun (Jen) Clair, Michael (Ellen Howard) Clair, Cameron Clair, Erik (Deirdre) Matthews, Morgan (Jon Luke) Matthews, Kara (John) Ford, Lara (Ted) McGrath; and great grandchildren, Carter, Tyler and Norah Clair, Adisen and Emma Luke and James Ford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Korky in 2001, and by his siblings, William Clair, Mary Rose Corcoran, Alice Hoppy and Dorothy Riley.
