Terry John

John Terry, age 89, of 2804 Darling Road, passed away at his home on Monday, August 22, 2016, following declining health over the past few years.

John was born on April 9, 1927 in Trumansburg, a son of the late Leslie and Florence (Smith) Terry. He was a 1945 graduate of Trumansburg High School, where he excelled in basketball, and has lived in the area all of his life. John had worked at Seneca Army Depot, retiring as Quality Assurance Inspector in 1974. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing....while of course making time for the NY Giants.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lelia ‶Lee″ and his children; John A. (Peggy) Terry of Interlaken, Cheryl (Butch) Pell of Interlaken, Debby (Bill) Karlsen of Ovid and Sandy R. (Bernie) Hauf of Willard, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at Covert Funeral Home.
