Richard W. ‶Dick″ Clair, formerly of Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Geneva Living Center South, where he had been a resident since last year.
A graveside prayer service with military honors will be held at 10:00am on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ovid. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to your local American Legion Post in his memory.
Dick was born in Lyons, NY on April 12, 1939, the eldest son of William J. and Eleanor (Fowler) Clair. Following high school graduation, he attended college for forestry, but life led his career path differently. He had worked at Willard Psychiatric Center, as a chef at various local restaurants, Goulds Pumps, and finally spent many years in the IPE division of Seneca Army Depot.
He is survived by his children; Chris (Clifford) Neil of Port Byron, Cynthia (Dan Henries) Clair of Penn Yan, Chryl (Bernie) Craven of Beaver Dams and Timothy (Terri) Clair of Addison, 8 grandchildren, sisters; Sharron Guerrie of Geneva and Patricia Blake of Mauldin, SC and a large extended family. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timothy.
