Lisa Eileen Allen, aged 66, passed away of natural causes at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale on October 2, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. Willis Allen and Vivian Norton Allen. She was born in Geneva General Hospital in N.Y. on April 20, 1957.
She attended Ovid Central School that became South Seneca Central School District. She attended and graduated high school from The Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA where she excelled in theater, varsity field hockey, and the cheer squad.
Post graduation, she attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. While in New York, she got hired to the legendary culinary market, Dean and Deluca, which she leveraged into a highly sought after management position. Lisa also worked at the famous music venue Max’s Kansas Steak House where she met many musicians. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. After the demand for accommodations for the 1984 Olympics, she was forced from her apartment, and left for Boston. She got a job with Harvard’s catering service, Creative Gourmet, and supervised their high-end events, such as Caroline Kennedy’s wedding.
Cold winters in Boston drove her to Florida where she worked for retail, winning many sales awards. Lisa enjoyed travel, reading, attending theater, and animals of all kinds. She had a keen wit and a well-honed sense of humor.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Kim Ogden Allen. She is survived by her brother Peter Todd Allen, Reynoldsville NY, her younger sister, Heather (Bruce) Johnson of Salem OR, along with two nieces, two nephews, five grand nephews, and many cousins.
Services will be at the Ovid Federated Church on December 9th at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow in Sheldon Hall. Interment will be with her family n Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva.
