Ronald S. “Ron” Parish, age 68, formerly of Romulus, passed away peacefully at Geneva Living Center on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from complications of a recently diagnosed cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street in Ovid. Ron was born in Geneva on April 2, 1953, a son of Glenn and Margaret (Woodington) Parish. He graduated from South Seneca High School and began a career as a welder, and had worked at Vance Metal Fabricators in Geneva for many years.  Ron was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers. Ron and his wife, Donna, enjoyed camping for a couple of years after retirement in Zephyrhills, Florida, Junius Ponds in Junius, New York, and the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse during the New York State Fair. Ron was a compassionate and caring man, most notably demonstrated by donating a kidney to his sister Debbie in the late 1990s providing her a nearly two decade renewal of life. Socially, Ron was active in the Finger Lakes Family Moose Club in the 2000s including serving as President.

He is survived by his son, Steven (Lauren) Parish of West Henrietta and their children, Jack and Benjamin; a daughter, Andrea (Wayne) Hill of Willard and their children, Karah and Brant; stepchildren, Penny Lanza, Dan Russell Jr., and James Russell Sr., and their children and grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Cassandra, James Jr., Jennifer Hoffman; two great-grandchildren Jasmine Lanza and Harper Russell; his brother, John Parish of Willard, and brothers and sisters in law, Ken Hohwald, Doris Smith, David Mollenkopf and their families.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; father, Glenn; his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Bill Bretherton and his sister, Debbie “Shorty” Hohwald.
